The annual Laytown Races take place every year. This is an unequalled spectacle as it is the only race meeting that takes place on a beach under the Rules of Racing. The Laytown Beach fixture is historic, the first recorded in 1868. It is a highly colourful event, which attracts visitors, locals, top jockeys, first class trainers as well as the occasional celebrity! The Co Meath beach is situated on the East Coast about 30 miles north of Dublin. Racing commences late afternoon.
